Fall 2017 Cleaning from the Corridor
Cleaning from the Corridor • Another Successful Event! • October 7 th - 9am-noon • 25 total Volunteers • Removed 22.47 Tons of trash = $3,938.94 • Removed 11 large appliances
Spokane Matters District 1 Appliance Project • 85 total large appliances picked up! • 23 Households served. • Joint effort with Bemiss Neighborhood Council, Code Enforcement Litter Crew and RK Appliance
Neighborhood Cleanup 2017 • As of 11/1: 1. $165,700 spent to date for neighborhood cleanup 2. 653.44 tons of trash removed City wide 3. Numbers will increase over the next couple of weeks as results of individual cleanups and dump passes are reported.
Neighborhood Cleanup 2018 • Each neighborhood will have an additional $1000.00 for cleanup for a total of $7,500 for each neighborhood! • Total amount of increased program funding for 2018: $29,000 • Funding coming as grants to ONS from Public Works for Community Clean Up programs – 29K earmarked for neighborhood Clean Up. • This increased funding will last for 3 years.
City Hall Security Updates • All City Hall visitors will need to check in on the main floor or 3 rd floor with Security. • Floors 1 and 3 will still be open to the public. • Meeting rooms on the main floor coming soon.
