SLIDE 14

DRIVING GROWTH OF THE HUMBER ECONOMY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR COMMUNITIES

The government is committed to halving the disability employment gap. Employers have a crucial role to play in this – apart from self-employment, disabled people can only be in employment if employers are willing to employ them.

DRIVING GROWTH OF THE HUMBER ECONOMY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR COMMUNITIES

  • So far we have signed up 45 new employers to the pledge; creating a

database of 420+ businesses working across the Humber

  • Each business has signed at least one of the pledges to do something new or

more than they are already doing

  • Most new business sign-ups are very interested in the SSW funding and

Apprenticeship Support when they become available

  • We are asking that partners share the Skills Pledge information with

companies they are working with for placements, work experience, employability, mentoring an entrepreneur or employing a graduate, to sign the skills pledge to enable more pledges and create growth

  • The microsite and map showing which businesses have signed up is in the

process of change and updating. We will re-launch as soon as completed.
