Wilshire Bl/Sycamore Av Antenna Antenna • Steel pole, slightly more than 62 feet above the concrete base • Less than 12 inches in diameter • Radio antenna must be in very close proximity (300 feet maximum) to the underground station’s communications room (at the east end of the Wilshire/La Brea Station) • This eliminates the loss of signal strength. • Location provides connectivity to the various emergency response agencies’ other local and mountain top radio transmitter/receiver sites • Location allows the Purple Line radio system to have the coverage it requires for all users: • Metro Operations and Maintenance • Public safety (police, fire, Sheriff, and Transit Security) in the underground stations and tunnels

Wilshire/Fairfax Station Concrete and Rebar – Ongoing 2019 Concrete and rebar (steel) work • anticipated to continue through 2019 Work will require worksite traffic • control on the south side of Wilshire Bl from Orange Grove Av to Ogden Dr Off-peak work hours • (9am – 3:30pm; 8pm - 6am) More details to be provided in future • construction notices and briefings Concrete work shown from the street level at Wilshire/La Brea. Concrete is being pumped underground from the street level. Similar work will be done at the Wilshire/Fairfax Station. 23

Work includes, but is not limited to: Geotechnical instrumentation installation • Soil improvement • Magnetic surveying • Information on this work and the required traffic control will be available via construction notices. 32

Station Naming Policy Station Names will reflect the following principles: Transit system context: names will reflect the property’s location, relative to the entire • transit system, and not duplicated elsewhere. Property area: provide specific information about the property’s location relative to • the surrounding area. Neighborhood identity: acknowledge the communities and neighborhoods serviced • by the station and stops. • Simplicity: names will be short, easily recognizable and fit for signage and mapping. Character limit: preferred maximum of 24 characters to ensure ADA readability and fit • within signage system. 33
