Violations: Swimmers witnessed entering the water in a dangerous fashion may be removed from their first event Second offense in same competition, may be removed from the remainder of the competition Permitted: kick boards, pull buoy, snorkel and stretch cords (in w/u pool during w/u only) Not permitted: fins, paddles, stretch cords in competition pool

CALL ROOM PROCEDURES

  • Positive check in at the clerk of course during warm-ups
  • Swimmers report to call room 15 minutes before scheduled start of their

race

BACKSTROKE STARTING LEDGE

  • The IT will install the device
  • The IT will also ensure the device is set at 0, initially
  • The IT will check that the strapping is free of any twists or knots and also

that the ledge is sitting flat against the wall.

  • Once the athletes arrive behind the block the athlete may change the

setting and ensure it is secured into position or may remove it from the water if they do not wish to use the device. The IT may be asked for assistance.

HEAT SHEETS & RESULTS

Preliminaries and Finals Heat Sheets:

  • Available daily from the clerk of course
  • Posted on event website and Meet Mobile prior to each session.
  • Foreign swimmer designation
  • Not permitted to advance to A finals
  • Maximum of 2 to advance to B finals

Results:

  • Posted after each event on the pool deck near clerk of course

and on the upper stands level

  • Posted after each event on the Swimming Canada website.

TIME TRIALS

  • Entries are first-come, first serve
  • Entries will be accepted at the time trial clerk of course each morning

from 8:30 am until 10:30 am

  • Each swimmer is permitted a maximum of one entry per day
  • Duration of 1 Hour Maximum
  • Events will mirror the preliminary session
  • Time Trials event heat sheets: available at clerk of course after entry

deadline, an announcement will be made.

  • After entries close at 10:30 am, any swimmer that is a no-show for their

time trial event will be fined $50.00 and be subject to all penalties guidelines as outlined in the meet package.

SCRATCH PROCEDURE

  • Deadlines:

Ø Thursday Preliminaries and Time Finals:

30 minutes after the end Technical Meeting

Ø Friday–Sunday Preliminaries and Time Finals:

30 minutes following the start of Finals of the previous evening

Ø Finals:

30 minutes following Preliminary events of the day (excluding time finals and time trials)

  • Penalties for no show (heats and finals and time trials)
  • Email scratches are NOT accepted

FOREIGN ATHLETES

  • No foreign swimmers will be permitted to advance to an

“A” Final OR be seeded in the top 8 in a time final event.

  • A maximum of two (2) foreign swimmers advancing to a

“B” Final

  • Please be certain we have been advised of all of your

foreign swimmers.

DQ’S AND PROTESTS

Disqualifications:

  • Disqualifications will be announced and include event number, heat

number and lane number. Procedure for protests:

  • Please discuss the disqualification with the session Referee.
  • If not resolved, a written protest may be presented to the Referee. A

written protest must be presented within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the event (protest forms will be available at the clerk of course)

  • If not resolved after discussion of the written protest, the matter may be

assigned to a Jury of Appeal.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION

§

Accreditation will be required to gain access to the pool deck.

§

Access to the pool will be through the locker rooms and past the main security checkpoint.

§

ALL athletes, coaching staff and support staff must have accreditation, individuals without accreditation will not be permitted pool access.

§

Lost accreditation will be replaced at a cost of $60.00 per accreditation.

DOPING CONTROL

  • The CCES will be conducting Doping Control during the meet
  • All swimmers selected for Doping Control are required to have photo ID.

Coaches are asked to instruct swimmers to bring photo ID to the competition.

  • Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.
  • Awarding Male and Female Swim of the Meet on Sunday
  • If a swimmer is unable to attend their awards ceremony, please send a

fully uniformed substitute swimmer in their place
