WARM-UPS

SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION PROCEDURES dated September 26, 2016 are in effect. Violations:

  • Swimmers will be removed from their first event
  • Second offense in same competition: removal from competition

Permitted:

  • kick boards, pull buoys, snorkels (in comp pool)

Not permitted:

  • fins, paddles, stretch cords in comp pool
  • No Diving in comp pool except in Sprint Lanes during Sprint / Dive

BACKSTROKE DEVICES

  • The Meet Mgmt. team / IT will install the device
  • The IT will ensure the device is set at 0, initially
  • The IT will check the strapping is free of any twists or knots

and also that the wedge/ledge is sitting flat against the wall.

  • Once the athletes arrive behind the block the athlete may

change the setting and ensure secured into position, or swimmer may ask the IT what setting to position, or if they wish to use the device at all. If requested, the IT will adjust the device to the requested setting.

DQ’S AND PROTESTS

Disqualifications:

  • Disqualifications will be announced and include event number, heat number

and lane number.

Procedure for protests:

  • Discuss DQ with the session Referee
  • If not resolved, a written protest may be presented to the Referee. A written

protest must be presented within 30 minutes after the conclusion of the event (protest forms will be available at the Clerk of Course)

  • If not resolved after discussion of the written protest, the matter may be assigned

to a Jury of Appeal.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION

  • Accreditation will be required to gain access to the pool deck
  • Access to the pool will be through the locker rooms past the

main security checkpoint between the 2 pools

  • ALL athletes, coaching staff and support staff must have

accreditation, individuals without accreditation will not be permitted pool access

  • Lost accreditation will be replaced at a cost of $60.00 per

accreditation at the clerk of course

SEATING

  • Swimmers, Coaches seating is available on-deck in

bleachers on the stands side of pool deck

  • Due to the high number of swimmers, we encourage teams

and swimmers not competing in any given session to sit in the stands. This will assist in meeting pool safety standards and will be more comfortable

CHANGE ROOMS

  • Lockers are available in the change rooms for free. Please

bring your own lock.

  • The family locker room is reserved for officials ONLY
  • Swimmers should not leave their belongings in the lockers

between sessions

  • Please ensure that all lockers are well locked. The venue,

LOC and Swimming Canada are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
