  • Thursday Prelims. Relay Events: moved to Thursday Finals and heats

swim fast to slow, alternating gender heats at end of session

WARM-UPS

SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION PROCEDURES dated September 26, 2016 are in effect. Violations:

  • Swimmers may be removed from their first event
  • Second offense in same competition: removal from competition

Permitted:

  • kick boards, pull buoys, snorkels (in comp pool)

Not permitted:

  • fins, paddles, stretch cords in comp pool
  • No Diving in comp pool except in Sprint Lanes during Sprint / Dive

HEAT SHEETS & RESULTS

Prelims and Final Sheets:

  • Available daily from the Clerk of Course
  • Posted on the web as soon as they are ready and prior to each

session

  • Foreign swimmer designation = A finals & B finals (max 2 only in

each heat)

  • Foreign swimmer alternate = max 1 alternate for finals to replace

foreign swimmer no-show only Results:

  • Posted after each event on the pool deck and upstairs
  • Posted after each event on the Swimming Canada website.

SCRATCH PROCEDURE

  • Deadlines

Ø Thursday Prelims:

30 minutes post Technical Meeting

Ø Friday–Sunday Prelims: 30 minutes following the start of

Finals the previous evening

Ø Finals :

30 minutes following Prelims events

(incl. Thurs. Relay event 6)

(excluding time final events) (ie. Fri. event 20; Sat. event 30; Sun. event 40)

  • Penalties for no show (heats and finals) = $50 (as per SNC 3.4)

BACKSTROKE DEVICES

  • The Meet Mgmt. team / IT will install the device
  • The IT will ensure the device is set at 0, initially
  • The IT will check the strapping is free of any twists or knots

and also that the wedge/ledge is sitting flat against the wall.

  • Once the athletes arrive behind the block the athlete may

change the setting and ensure secured into position, or swimmer may ask the IT what setting to position, or if they wish to use the device at all. If requested, the IT will adjust the device to the requested setting.

RELAY PROCEDURE / SUBMISSION

  • Clerk will provide/have available Relay Forms for Coaches at start of Prelims. warm-up
  • n Thursday morning for Relays at Thursday Finals (Thursday Prelims: Relays have

moved to Finals session)

FOREIGN ATHLETES

Able-body events

  • A maximum of two (2) foreign swimmers and or relays will be permitted

to advance to an “A” Final OR seeded top 10 in a timed final event. A maximum of two (2) foreign swimmers will be permitted to advance to a “B” Final.

PARA-SWIMMING

Finalist will be determined using the British Points System

  • British 2015 Para Points Scoring (implemented in Hy-Tek MM).
  • 3 Para Swimmers per Class limit on Finals to be highlighted.
  • Seeding in Finals is by time for Para events
  • Para S3, S4 and S11 classes for Lane designations in Warm-up periods to be

determined as Para lane: 0 for 7:30 to 8:30 am. & 4:30 to 5:30 pm. timeframe = dedicated lane (all Para swimmers may use this lane)

DQ’S AND PROTESTS

Disqualifications:

§ Disqualifications will be announced including event number, heat number and lane

number.

Procedure for protests: 1. Discuss DQ with the session Referee

  • 2. If not resolved, a written protest may be presented to the Referee. A written protest

must be presented within 30 minutes after the conclusion of the event (protest forms will be available at the Clerk of Course)

  • 3. If not resolved after discussion of the written protest, the matter may be assigned to a

Jury of Appeal. Jury of Appeal will include 1 Coach, of the 3 designated candidates (before Technical Meeting), with that Coach on Jury determined least impacted by DQ & decision.

ACCREDITATION INFORMATION

§ Accreditation will be required to gain access to the pool deck § Access to the pool will be through the locker rooms past the main security checkpoint § ALL athletes, coaching staff and support staff must have accreditation, individuals without accreditation will not be permitted pool access § Lost accreditation will be replaced at a cost of $60.00 per accreditation at the clerk of course

SEATING

  • Swimmers, Coaches seating is available on-deck in

bleachers on the stands side of pool deck

  • Due to the potential number of swimmers, we encourage

teams and swimmers not competing in any given session to sit in the stands. This will assist in meeting pool safety standards and will be more comfortable.

CHANGE ROOMS

  • Lockers are available in the change rooms for free. Please

bring your own lock.

  • The family locker room is reserved for officials ONLY
  • Swimmers should not leave their belongings in the lockers

between sessions

  • Please ensure that all lockers are well locked. The venue,
  • rganizing committee and Swimming Canada are not

responsible for lost or stolen items.

PARKING

§ Parking at the venue is paid for at machines in municipal lots.

Municipal Parking in the 2 highlighted lots off Bruce Ave (lot 22) and Caron Ave (lot 23) for:

  • $1.50 per hour – Max of $5 per day

9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday

  • $1.50 per hour or $2.00 flat rate

6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday to Saturday and all-day Sunday

  • Parking Directly adjacent to the pool

(west side and behind the building) has a time limit of max. 3hr. parking

Public Parking also available at variable rates.
