2nd Selangor Novice Swimming Meet 2017
Objectives:
a) To provide an opportunity for beginner swimmers under 12 years old to gain competitive exposure at the novice level b) To encourage new and young swimmers to participate in competitive swimming
Venue:
Pusat Akuatik Darul Ehsan, Shah Alam
Dates:
Saturday, 11th November 2017 & Sunday, 12th November 2017
Start Time: 8:00am (Warm up: 6:30am)
Note: No food and drinks will be provided on competition day. Swimmers
are responsible for own food and drinks for the duration of competition days
Team Attire
Day 1 (Sat, 11th November 2017) – Low Yat Sponsored T-Shirt (please collect from Team Managers on competition day) Day 2 (Sun, 12th November 2017) – 2017 PADE Supersharkz WHITE-with-YELLOW-sleeve T-shirt (for Competitive Category) – 2017 Supersharkz WHITE-with-BLUE-sleeve T-shirt (for Pre- Competitive Category)
Event Order
Day 1 (Sat, 11th November 2017) – 50m Backstroke – 25m Butterfly – 50m Breaststroke – 25m Freestyle – 4x25m Freestyle Relay – 25m Backstroke Day 2 (Sun, 12th November 2017) – 50m Butterfly – 25m Breaststroke – 50m Freestyle – 4x25m Medley Relay
General Rules
- 1. Swimmers are to sit with the team at all times, except
with prior permission from the Coaches and/or Team Managers.
- 2. Swimmers are fully responsible for the safety of their
belongings.
- 3. Parents are NOT allowed to be at the Pool Deck at all
- times. Parents will have to sit at the stands area only.
- 4. ONLY the Team Manager or Coach shall be allowed to
access the Control Room to retrieve final result print-

Steps to Take Before, During and After Competition

Find a place to sit at the Stands Area.

Find the events that your child is participating.
4.
Write the event and heat numbers on your child’s arm in the following format: – E: <event number> H: <Heat number> L: Lane number – E.g. E102 H3 L7
5.
Listen for and look out on scoreboard for your child’s event number. – CALL FOR 101 – 103 (<- this means swimmers for event 101, 102 and 103 must report at the marshal area)
6.
Swimmer go by himself/herself to report to Marshal before event starts. If scared or too young, please ask coach or team manager to send.
7.
Swimmers to stay at Marshal area (near diving pool) until own event starts. Listen to instruction from officials.
8.
Swimmers to warm down immediately after event at diving pool.
9.
Swimmers return to stands area after warm down.
Steps to Take Before, During and After Competition
Essentials to bring along
Food and drinks are not supplied. Please bring along adequate supply. You can also buy at the stalls in the stadium.
– Note: the competition may not break for lunch. So please make sure swimmers have adequate food at the right time between events
Come in the designated T-Shirts as in slide 3 and use that T for the whole day. This helps coaches and team manager to identify the club swimmers.

Swimsuit (must meet regulations)
– BL 8.3 From January 1, 2010 swimwear for men shall not extend above the navel nor below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials.
Kick-board (for warm up)

Off limits to parents while meet in progress
Note: You WILL be asked to leave by Officials, Team Managers, Coaches and guards if found in that area. Your child may even be disqualified from the next events.
Things to Note
- 1. Any queries should be directed to Coaches and/or
Team Managers on duty.
- 2. Parents and swimmers are to follow the rules of the
competition at all times. Please ask Coaches and/or Team Managers on duty if in doubt
- 3. Parents and swimmers will have to be alert to note
- wn registered events. If swimmer missed out event, it
will be considered “Did Not Show (DNS)”.
- 4. Dis-Qualifications (DQ) are strictly based on Technical
Official’s decisions in accordance FINA rules.
