An Air Conditioner bearing inverter tag uses a variable-frequency drive to control the speed of the motor and thus the compressor. It consumes at least 30% less (it can go to 50% or more) electricity depending on various factors like the outside temperature ,purpose for which the AC is used, Hence it uses less amount of electricity. Inverter is a device which supplies variable frequency of power supply on equipments. Thanks to this function , motor revolution speed can be controlled and it leads to reduce energy consumption.

Principles of AC motor and DC motor

Type AC motor DC motor Conventional Reluctance Outline To rotate motor, electric current must also run through internal coil. Large power consumption Ferrite magnet is placed on surface to rotate motor No internal coil or electric current, so efficiency is higher than AC. But low rotation force because iron inside is not working. Neodymium magnet is buried inside, whose magnetism causes internal iron to have rotating force. High rotating force with low power High efficiency Internal structure

National Energy Saving National Energy Saving

  • The estimated total sales of AC for 2013-2014 is to a tune of 3.5

million.

  • This figure , according to estimates will rise to 7.4 million by the

year 2018 given the current growth rate.

  • Presuming, all the ACs are of inverter type only, the total saving of

power would be 74,00,000 X 1516KWH = 11 TWh/Year

  • One 500Mw coal fired power plant at 100 PLF produces

4.38TWh/Year ( 500 X1000 X 1000 X 365 X 24)

  • In other words the savings of power translates to total production of

electricity equivalent to 3 power plants of 500MW each -- that the economy can do away with. Consider the saving of forests, mineral wealth etc.

The enormous potential of energy saving is available as more and more inverter technology is adopted.

  • R32 is 10% more energy efficient than conventional

refrigerant at the same volume.

  • Potential of Refrigeration capacity :1.6 times of R410A
  • Lower pressure loss, when capacity is same, leads to

thinner piping diameter.

  • GWP of R32 is 675, which is 1/3 of that of conventional

refrigerants such as R410A and R22. Also, it can reduce charge volume by about 30% when optimized. All together it can reduce GWP by 75% in total.

Potential Reductions in CO2 Emissions Potential Reductions in CO2 Emissions

It is possible to reduce CO2 emissions significantly, thanks to the high energy efficiency achieved by inverter technology and the energy –efficient R32 refrigerant.

■ ■Assumption: Assumption: The sales of R32 inverter air conditioners becomes 70% of total sales if R32 inverter equipment increases by 10% every year. ■ ■Potential CO2 Reduction: Potential CO2 Reduction: Emissions reductions in 2020 could be potentially total around 17 million tCO2. Cumulative reductions between 2014 and 2020 are estimated at 47, million tCO2.
