Be responsible Comply with rules Share your concerns

We respect persons who report their involvement in safety

  • ccurrences.

We treat such reports confidentially and protect personal information at all times. CPH Safety & Crisis Management (SCM) March 2018 Report

Flight Safety at Kastrup EKCH

Runway incursion

Total reported Absolute number per type of operation

1 reported runway incursion involving aircraft in March; 1 late report of such incident involving aircraft in February. Both runway incursions involved inactive runway and are therefore not classified as severe incidents. However, SCM and Naviair, in collaboration with involved airlines if possible, investigate every reported runway incursion in order to learn about the potential causes.

SLIDE 5

Crossing of illuminated stopbar

Total reported Absolute number per type of operation

1 late report from February of a vehicle crossing an illuminated stopbar with ATC clearance. 2 reported crossings in March, both involving vehicles

slide-6
SLIDE 6

Incursion in front of/behind moving aircraft

Total reported Avoiding action

Figure 1: Increasing trend indicates the awareness of reporting such event; Figure 2: No significant increasing trend. No incursions requiring avoiding action reported in March. Figure 1 Figure 2

Aircraft damage on ground

Total reported to CPH Absolute number per type of operation

1 reported aircraft damage due to malfunction in passenger bridge in March. Incident investigation is ongoing.

slide-8
SLIDE 8

Improper Aircraft parking

Total reported Reported per Aircraft Stand Type

0 reported for March. The decreased number of reports for the recent months might be caused by a possible malfunction in the reporting

  • system. SCM is currently investigating this concern.

DGS: meaning pilot follows electronic dock station when taxiing a/c onto stand. Marshaller: meaning pilot is guided by CPH marshaller when taxiing a/c onto stand. Centreline/stop marking: meaning pilot follows day markings on ground when taxiing a/c onto stand.

CNS/ATM

CNS/ATM system Support system to CNS/ATM system

(power supply, network, etc.)

SCM and ATM department are working on improving the presentation form of CNS/ATM related safety data. Therefore, no trend and analysis will be displayed for the moment.

Minor safety consequences:

 Stopbar on TWY B3 failed to perform according

to design specifications. Reason being a faulty track in ASMCGS causing repeated examples

  • f re-illumination of the stopbar notwithstanding

the fact, that no object had actually passed it after TWR turned it off to allow an object to cross. IT is investigating causes together with the contractor of the system. Minor safety consequences:

 The entire eastern area of the aerodrome was

affected by a failure on the main power supply due to a malfunctioning transformer on 2 March 2018. The failure of the main power supply affected some aeronautical instruments very shortly whilst shifting to back-up power. To our knowledle, instruments affected were: radar east, approach lights for RWY 30 and all ILS stations

Self-reporting of safety occurrences

Aerodrome area related

(runway incursion, damage on ground and movement in front of/behind moving aircraft)

CNS related self-reporting

(reporting of human factors that (can) lead to safety-concerns)

 Nothing reported for this month.

11 out of 12 self-reportable events were reported by the involved person. No significant variation in trend development.

slide-11
SLIDE 11

Birdstrikes

Total birdstrikes* High risk birdstrikes*

1 out of 4 birdstrikes this month were reported by pilots. 1 birdstrike involved Rough-legged buzzard and 3 involved Short-eared Owl. One of the long-term Wildlife Hazard Management efforts to reduce the number of collisions with both Short-eared owls and rough-legged buzzards, is reseeding of the grass areas Airside, to reduce food availability (mice and small rodents). *Species of collision bird has been identified

IFKL Staff Catering

SLIDE 27

IFKL Staff Catering

  • Meeting held with Michael Clausen / CPH on 16MAR2018
  • We presented our proposal for a solution to the missing staff canteen
  • Proposal is placement of 2 Food Trucks at strategic locations – 1 landside and 1 airside
  • Our mission is to provide fresh food of high quality at reasonable prices, in quantities

fitting the need of hard working employees

  • We intend to keep the Food Trucks open at hours, which are best suited to the
  • peration
  • We tentatively suggest opening hours from 0900 to 1900, 24/7/365
  • We received a positive reaction from Michael, and agreed on the next step
  • CPH will research current usage of the 10% staff discount, as well as an estimate on

the total number of employees on a daily basis

  • An alternative suggested by CPH, was to lower concession charges at existing food
  • utlets on selected products, lowering the price for staff to a ‘reasonable’ level
  • This could mean that one outlet sells hot dishes, another sells salads, a third sells

sandwiches etc.

  • In our opnion this is a less desireable solution
slide-28
SLIDE 28

Food selection / Prices

  • Two different hot dishes every day – one of which will be halal
  • Price DKK 50,-
  • A variety of different sandwiches, halal and non-halal
  • Price DKK 25,-
  • A variety of green salads, pasta salads and salads with e.g. chicken or tuna
  • Price DKK 20,- (green / pasta) or DKK 35,- (chicken / tuna)
  • Luxury open sandwiches (smørrebrød)
  • Price DKK 50,- for 3 pieces
  • Mixed fruit bowls
  • Price DKK 30,-
  • Hot food will be delivered in packages suitable for reheat in microwave ovens
  • Food selection will be adjusted according to customer feed-back
  • Possibility of pre-order / pre-payment via App
  • Please note, all prices are tentative and are subject to adjustment depending on

concession agreement with CPH and total volume (higher concession cost = higher prices; higher volume = lower prices)

slide-29
SLIDE 29

Placement of Food Trucks

  • It is imperative for CPH, that the Food Trucks are placed in discreet locations
  • We would like to place 1 truck airside, and 1 truck landside, as conveniently for staff as possible
  • Placement of trucks are contingent on supply of electricity and water, as well as approval from various authorities
  • Trucks are mobile, and can be moved as and when needed due to e.g. building projects
