The BA/MA Program

  • Only 8 candidates selected to attend SAIS
  • Expectation to complete program in 5 consecutive years
  • Candidates chosen for program during sophomore year at Hopkins
  • Spend junior year taking relevant Hopkins courses and completing undergraduate

requirements

  • Receive BA after first year of graduate study and MA after the second year at SAIS;

students attend graduation ceremony for their BA after year four, except at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center

  • Participate in the same rigorous academic program; study with the same

professors, interact on the same basis as everyone else with student body; fulfill same graduation requirements.

Junior Year / Semester Abroad Program

  • Candidates selected to attend SAIS Europe campus in Bologna,

Italy during junior year

  • Not guaranteed admission to SAIS in the future, but if admitted

will receive advanced standing for time spent in Bologna

  • Flexibility in course selection . Credits will come back for

international studies majors

  • Housing is guaranteed

Direct Admission

  • Direct admission into SAIS for graduating seniors
  • Admissions Requirements:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.33
  • HNC Certificate and MAIS: Stamp Test (waive the test fee)
  • MIEF
  • One semester of college calculus with a B or higher or AP Calculus AB
  • r BC score of 4 or higher
  • Statistics with a B or higher
  • Intermediate Microeconomics and Intermediate Macroeconomics

with a B or higher (calculus requirement waived if met this requirement at JHU)
