  19. Report 2017 seminar – Odense (Denmark) • 56 submissions; final programme 30 papers • 3 plenaries: Raymond W. Gibbs Jr., Ágnes Szokolzsky and Jordan Zlatan • 4 presentations in pre-conference workshop “Enacting Metaphor in Everyday Life” (24 attendees) • RaAM-sponsored PhD event (smørrebrød) and seminar dinner

Update 2018 conference – Hong Kong • Approx. 200 participants from 40 countries/regions, 90 from Asia • 4 plenary speakers, 4 workshops, 110 papers, 8 posters, 5 colloquia • 14 applications for bursaries: 8 funded by RaAM + 3 fee waivers offered by LOC • Sponsoring of a PhD event (dance!) with GBP 400 • PhD presentation prize sponsored by Benjamins • Social programme: opening reception (sponsored by Benjamins), conference dinner, PhD party, post- conference trip

RaAM Specialized Seminar 2019 • « Metaphor Studies at the Intersection of Multiple Disciplines » , – Université of Liège , Belgium, May 2019 • Focus on the interdisciplinary nature of metaphor studies – Variety of disciplines • Philosophy, psychology, social sciences, communication studies, health care, political science, education, second language pedagogy, translation studies,… – Variety of methods • Identification methods (MIP, MIPVU,…) • Experimental methods (processing, perception,…) – Cross-fertilization potential? • Added value for these disciplines? For metaphor studies? • Format – 2 days – 3 plenary talks (speakers to be confirmed) – 3 methodological workshops – Parallel sessions (talks of 20’)
