  13. Preferences • For each block, students will select a 1 st and 2 nd preference. We will give students their first choice if we can; students will be given their second choice: – if a subject is oversubscribed , in which case heads of departments will narrow the list down by considering each child’s aptitude (natural fit for the subject) and attitude (willingness to work hard to overcome challenge); – if a subject is undersubscribed , in which case the option will not run.

The graduation process Key Stage 3 • Reached target grade, or above, in Key English, Mathematics and Science Graduate with honours • Average RfL between 1 and 1.5 • Attendance above 98% • Within one grade of target in English, Stage Mathematics and Science Graduate • Average RfL between 1.6 and 2.5 • Attendance 95% or above 4 • 2 grades or more below target in Summer English, Mathematics or Science Extra support Able to begin School • Average RfL below 2.5 • Attendance below 95%

  20. What happens if your child is underachieving? • Progress analysed at each progress capture or examination • Progress towards graduation tracked in tutor bases • Targeted support from teaching departments • Targeted Academic Report • Back on Track event (after the annual examination)
