The Curriculum at Trinity • The Year 10 and 11 curriculum – English Language – English Literature – Mathematics – Religious Studies (PTE) or ASDAN – Combined Science (Separate Science for those selected) – History or Geography – Two options choices (this includes French or German) – Core PE (not examined)

Option blocks Block C Block D French Business Studies German Drama 3D Design (Technology in Year 9) Music Hospitality and Catering (Food) Hospitality and Catering (Food) BTEC Business PE (PE in Year 9) BTEC Media Studies (Media Studies or Film BTEC Sports Studies (PE in Year 9) Studies in Year 9) BTEC ICT (ICT in Year 9) Computer Science (ICT in Year 9) BTEC Health and Social Care* 3D Design (Technology in Year 9) BTEC Child Development* Motor Vehicle Technology (Technology in Year 9) Art Textiles Geography and History

  5. Choosing Options (part 1) • Students select either Geography or History as an option • Students also have the opportunity to select Geography and History in block D

  6. Choosing Options (part 2) • Students select two preferences for block C and two preferences for block D. As far as possible we will allocate students to their preferred subjects. Students must have studied the subject in Year 9 • Most students who have studied French of German in Year 9 will be expected to continue the language to GCSE

  7. GCSE/Vocational qualifications • We offer two general types of qualification – GCSE and vocational GCSE Vocational Type of qualification GCSE BTEC Level 2 certificate Grading 9‐1 Pass – Distinction* Typical future route A level, degree, degree Level 3 BTEC, apprenticeship apprenticeship Typical assessment Examinations Examinations and coursework

Selecting preferences • As much as possible we aim to allocate students to their preferred subjects, but this is not always possible • We may make changes to a student’s choices based on our knowledge of them • On rare occasions a subject may not run because there are too few students who have selected it
