Each student must select AT LEAST one from the following:
- French
- Spanish
- Geography
- History
- Computing
In many cases we would expect 3 or 4 to be selected from this list

- Technology – Resistant Materials

Learning time:
Each option has 6 periods a fortnight (But prepare yourself for after school, Saturday and holiday interventions – if needed)

“Triple Science”
The 60 top performing students in AP2 and AP3 will be selected to do 3 separate sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Overall GCSEs
With the inclusion of Religious Studies which all students study in Year 10 only (and take the GCSE in June 2018), each student will have 10 or 11 GCSEs

Extra support for English / Maths
- Some students will only take 3 options to allow 6 extra lessons a
fortnight to help with English and Maths
- We will have Parental meetings regarding this

No coursework!
The following courses are 100% exam
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Geography
- History
- Business Studies
The remainder have some coursework but this has been reduced

Some advice…
- Read the guide
- Speak to teachers and Heads of department
- Speak to siblings / Year 10 students
- Follow your interest and passions – but stick to what you’re good at
- Look at future career plans
- Every GCSE counts – you must aim to achieve in all
- Look at the balance of Exam vs Coursework
- And speak to parents of course

17th March – Options forms issued 3rd April - AP2 results– strong indication of ability to succeed Friday 21st April – Final Deadline for return of forms 8th May – AP3 exams start 29th June- Year 9 Parents’ Evening
