Do you want to learn more about; Scotland? The UK? The World? Customer service and Employability?
4 units of the course: Employability The general aim of this Unit is to enable learners to develop skills to become effective job seekers and employees in the travel and tourism industry. Customer Service The general aim of this Unit is to allow learners to develop the skills and knowledge to enable them to meet the needs of customers. Scotland The general aim of this Unit is to enable learners to develop their knowledge, in relation to travel and tourism in Scotland, and the skills required to meet the needs of customers. UK and Worldwide The general aim of this Unit is to enable learners to develop their knowledge, in relation to travel and tourism in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world, and the skills required to meet the needs of customers.
Environmental Science
The Environmental Science course aims to make you aware of the importance of the planet and how it relates to life and development. Concerns about the environment feature strongly.
3 Key Topics: Living Environment You will not only learn about the distribution of plants and animals in different environments but also develop the skills that are required to collect and analyse environmental data. The key areas covered are: Investigating ecosystems and biodiversity; Interdependence; Human influences on biodiversity. Earth’s Resources Our Earth is rich in resources, many of which are used by humans. You will learn about the processes involved in the formation of some of these resources, and how we exploit
and their interactions; Geosphere; Hydrosphere; Biosphere; Atmosphere. Sustainability The rapidly increasing human population is having a massive impact on our Earth. You will learn about the importance of living sustainably not only as individuals but as global citizens too. You will develop the knowledge and skills required to make informed choices to sustain current and future generations. The key areas covered are: Introduction to sustainability; Food; Water; Energy; Waste Management.

Do you want to take your passion for Geography further?
There are two components which make up the course:
Component 1 - Folio Work 100 marks
The folio is broken down into two separate parts: i) The Geographical Fieldwork Project or (Study) For the Geographical Study you will carry out fieldwork on a topic which interests you such as river pollution or crime rates (the choice is up to you). You will research the topic, collect data and then process the information and turn this into a report. ii) Critical Evaluation of a Geographical Issue The Geographical Issue requires you to identify a current controversial topic such as migration and examine the different views of the people
Component 2 - SQA Exam 50 marks
There is also an SQA exam which tests map interpretation and data handling and processing questions.
