ME routes…..BSc optional Stage 4

  • If you decide on an ME route we’ll provide an optional Stage 4 to

your BSc programme

  • The optional Stage 4 will be the year 1 modules of your intended

ME programme

  • You will graduate with your BSc (still based on Stage 2 and Stage 3

GPA’s) at the end of this optional Stage 4

  • The purpose is to provide an additional years paid fees
  • On completion of the optional Stage 4 you’ll be transferred to your

ME and credited with modules completed in optional Stage 4

  • One years Masters fees will then be due to complete the ME

programme

The e Fee e Issue ue

  • EU Students in an undergraduate degree programme (B.Sc. or BE)
  • nly pay a ‘registration fee’ (about €3000) – they do not pay the full

fee which is about €8000.

  • If/when you graduate with a B.Sc., you need to pay the full ME

programme fees which are about €8000 per year.

  • You will have to pay this fee in Year 5.
  • In Stage 4, you have two options:
  • Graduate the B.Sc. at the end of Stage 3 and pay the full fee for

Stage 4 as well as Stage 5. OR

  • Postpone graduation and remain on the B.Sc. register during

Stage 4

  • At the end of Stage 4, transfer to the ME register (Stage 5) and

get ‘recognition for prior learning’ for the ME-level modules already done in Stage 4.

  • This allows you to only pay full fees for one year.
