SLIDE 3 Phonics Threshold released – 24 June 2019 Pupil Premium file released – Between June and early August Key Stage 2 results (raw scores and scaled scores) and marked scripts available on NCA Tools – 9 July 2019 All data must be uploaded by the following dates:
- Phonics and KS2 – 19 June 2019 (KS2 - 24 June for moderated schools)
- KS1 – 27 June 2019
- EYFS – 28 June 2019
- Raw scaled score conversion tables for KS1 tests available on Gov.uk.

EYFS – If a child moves to a new school or setting before the summer half term holiday (before or on 24 May 2019), the new setting must report the child’s EYFS profile data to the LA. If a child transfers schools during the second half of the summer term on or after (3 June 2019) the previous school is responsible for reporting to the LA Phonics – The school that administers the Phonics test must submit the data and include this data in the ctf to the new school. (Tests available from 10-21st June). If a pupil is absent during the check week, you can administer the check to them up to Friday 21 June. Any pupil who is absent from school for this entire period should be recorded as absent in the results data.
Which school uploads the data?

- If a pupil transfers Before 1 May 2019 the receiving school must administer the
tests and submit the TA data
- If a pupil transfers school during the May 2019 testing period then the receiving
school must find out which tests have already been administered to the pupil and administer any remaining test/s The school where the pupil was registered for the greater number of school days in May should submit the TA data for that pupil to the LA
- If the pupil moves school after 31 May then the school where the pupil was
registered submits the data.

- If a pupil changes school before test week (13 – 16 May) the receiving school must
submit TA data
- If a pupil changes school during KS2 test week, the school where the pupil was
registered at the beginning of the test week must submit TA data
- If a pupil changes school after the KS2 test week the school where the pupil was
registered during the KS2 week must submit the TA data.

EYFS – You can only enter 3, 2, 1 or A If you enter A for one learning goal, you have to enter A for all 17 and this has to be approved by Angela Jones Phonics Year 1 & Year 2 Enter a score between 0 and 40 or A (absent) or D (Disapplied. A or D must be entered in the grade column only Year 2 phonic scores are only entered for those who failed to achieve it the previous year The Threshold score will not be released until 24 June 2019 so you will have to submit the data without the Wa or Wt grade being present.

Subject Result Reading GDS – Working in greater depth within the expected standard EXS – Working at the expected standard WTS – Working towards the expected standard (but not being assessed on the pre key stage framework) PK1-PK4 – Pre-key stage level 1 to 4 where 1 is the lowest– use the Pre-Key Stage Framework BLW* – Below the standard of pre-key stage – P scales for pupils with SEN or NOTSEN A – Absent or not enough information to provide an assessment D – Disapplied from the national curriculum Writing Maths Science EXS – Working at the expected standard HNM* - Has not met the standard –P scales for any pupil with SEN – It is possible to leave the P scale blank for a SEN pupil if they have only just failed to meet the standard but are working above the P scales. Only possible in Science A – Absent or not enough information to provide an assessment D – Disapplied

Pupil without SEN needs, e.g. EAL If you have entered either BLW (English & Maths) or HNM (Science) but the pupil does not have a SEN need then you should put NOTSEN in the P Scale marksheet at Subject level only Disapplied Only to be used in exceptional circumstances where the pupil has been disapplied from the national curriculum, including statutory assessment requirements (not just because they were not at the standard of
the test)

The files will be available as soon as you have saved the marksheets and you have created a ctf. Please remember, when creating your ctfs, you create them using the correct choice Create ctf via Routines | Data Out | Export CTF REMEMBER – for Phonics Year 2 – only submit the resits!!

Uploading the data
Click on Upload File. You can only upload one file at a time. You should not need to rename any of the files Once you have completed entering all of your data, you will need to upload the files to S2S. Choose upload CTF file and browse for the file

You can export the marksheets to Excel so teachers can complete them with the data You can then import the spreadsheet back in and will import the grades into SIMS Instructions will be posted on the schools website: smartict4schools.com.

SLIDE 19 If the templates are not showing when you navigate to Tools | Performance | Assessment | Wizard Manager, you will have to import them in. Once imported, you can access them via Tools | Performance etc Go to Routines | Data In | Assessment | Import and click on the Yellow Import folder. SIMS should automatically navigate to SIMS.net | AMPA. Find the folder called England Primary and double click to open it. Open Assessment Manager and find the missing
- wizards. You have to import them in one at a time:

All the wizards are created in the same way. If you have old wizards showing in the list, place a tick in the complete column for any you no longer need to see and then filter the old ones out by changing the filter to Incomplete

Click on your chosen wizard and click on next
If the year group is not showing on the next page, Click on the magnifier and choose the correct year group, e.g. for EYFS, choose R. Click Apply and then Next
Double click the marksheet: EYFS Profile 2019, KS1 A or KS2 A Teacher Assessments 2019, KS1 B or KS2 B P Scale Data Entry 2019 or Phonics Y1 and Y2. EYFS has an additional marksheet - Good Level of Development (not to fill in)

You can manually type the data in (refer to the list of available
- nes) or you can right click on a
cell and choose ‘select grade for cell’. You then double click on a grade and SIMS will enter the grade and then move down to the next cell. Alternatively, you can right click on the heading and choose “grade for column” (if most pupils have the same grade). You can then move down the column changing any different ones. You can copy a column as well.

SLIDE 25 Sims: Missing data – previous years
You can add missing data for pupils who were not in your school in previous years, for example KS1 results for a Year 3 pupil. You will also need to add the threshold phonics score for 2018, if you have not already done this To add missing results, you will need to untick the completed wizard in SIMS for the relevant year. For example, a Year 3 pupil now would have been a Year 2 pupil in
- 2018. Find the wizard for KS1 for 2018 by changing the filter from incomplete to
either All or Completed and remove the tick in the completed column.
SLIDE 26 Sims: Missing data – previous years
On Select Group, change the year group to Year 3, click Apply and then Next. Click Yes on the warning page about changing year groups. You can then open the marksheet template and add any missing data. YOU MUST change the Result Date to the date the test was taken. If you are unsure, you can right click
- n one of the existing results and
choose: View/Edit Result History

Sims: Missing data – Threshold scores
This is created the same as missing KS1 results. Find the marksheet template for the 2018 Phonics and untick the completed box, click Next Change the year group to the one the pupils are in now Follow the same procedure as the previous slide – including changing the Result Date On the Threshold Score Phonics Check column, right click on the heading and choose Select Grade for Column and enter the score
