OSA Program & Support Services:

Athletes learning and training at the Ontario Swimming Academy will be supported at varying levels in providing foundational performance services to keep them healthy and introduce/maintain a high performance lifestyle.

Services include:

  • Sport medicine
  • Biomechanical/ Performance Analysis
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Nutrition
  • Physiology
  • Sport Psychology
  • Life and Educational support

A key aspect of programming will be a detailed performance planning and integrated service delivery of sport specific technical expertise.

Fundamentals Camp

Swim Ontario will partner Swimming Canada with respect to para programming

  • pportunities at TPASC for the 2014-2015 season.
  • Two 3 day camps (November/January)
  • Target athletes are those qualified for provincials but below the SNC SMART

Track Camps focus

  • Utilizing the Pan Am pool and CSIO services
  • Primary focus on technical improvements (starts/turns) and introduction to

Swim Ontario is currently developing a national and international hosting strategy, that will dovetail with our own domestic programming in a way that both promotes and achieves our strategic goals and initiatives

  • Ontario Junior International Dec 5-7, 2014 (First weekend Dec.).
  • Para Pan Am Games Trials / Can Am Champs March 20-22 2015.
  • Pan Am Games / World Championship Trials, April 1-4 2015.
  • 2016 Olympic/Paralympic Trials
  • Other possible National /International event hosting
  • pportunities in 2016 and beyond.

  • 1. Selection Criteria
  • Primarily Boys 14-18 & Girls 13-17
  • By invitation only, based on a top 3 Provincial result in an

Olympic event and/or SNC “On Track” qualification

  • 2. Swimmer Cost?
  • Up to $100 per camp / swimmer
  • 3. Schedule / Time away from School?
  • Four to Five 3 day camps between October and May in

Ontario Swimming Academy FAQ’s

  • 4. Transportation?
  • Athletes are responsible to make their own way to Pan Am

Pool in Scarborough. Should we require transportation during the camp it will be provided.

  • 5. Coaches Invited?
  • YES, coaches of invited (selected) swimmers are welcome

at any time.

  • 6. What is in it for my Club?
  • The opportunity for coaches and swimmers to gain similar

experiences to those of the T2T and T2C camps held in the past… more times per year.
