CMP Participants and Roles ROLE OF LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (LAC ) • Identify and confirm ESA management issues; • May attend ESA site visits; • Help to develop the restoration plan, trail plan and recommendations; • Prioritize implementation of recommendations, and; • Review the draft Phase II CMP report ROLE OF EEPAC AND ACCAC • Provide review of draft Phase II CMP reports based on technical skills and mandate of the Committees. ROLE OF THE PUBLIC • Provide community input regarding the Phase II CMP. ROLE OF COUNCIL • To review and approve a final CMP based on input from LAC, EEPAC, ACCAC and the community.

Milestones of Phase I CMP Process: Community Information Meetings were held on:  July 25, 2013 - Project Initiation  January 27, 2014 – Presentation of Key Findings Phase 1 CMP Report to Planning and Environment Committee of Council  February 14, 2017 Phase 1 CMP and the  Addendum updated with 2016 version of Guidelines for Management Zones and Trails in ESAs - both approved by Council

  7. REVIEW OF THE PHASE 1 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT STRATEGY Japanese Knotweed being 1. All significant ecological features identified injected with herbicide for in Phase 1 were found to be compatible control with the existing managed trails based on Chart 2 from the Guidelines for Management Zones and Trails in ESAs 2. Fifteen areas were identified that require active ecological restoration or special management. Majority of ecological restoration work is underway in 8 of 15 Restoration Overlays (Phase 1 Figure 17) 3. Three areas were identified for naturalization (Figure 18) 4. Seventeen adjacent properties were identified as potential candidates for Control area for Goutweed stewardship opportunities on private property. Some restoration is underway.

GOAL OF MVHF ESA (SOUTH) CMP – PHASE 2 To develop a comprehensive multi-year CMP that presents recommendations for achieving long-term ecological integrity and protection of the ESA through the implementation of an environmental management strategy. (Consistent with OP 15.3.8. i, ii, / London Plan policies 1421 and 1422)

  9. How Information Collected is to be Used? Information from the public will feed into the ecological protection, enhancement, restoration, trail planning and design recommendations to be outlined the CMP The City has no proposals for trail improvements and we are seeking input from the public to be considered through the process.

CMP TIMELINE and NEXT STEPS  June 1, 2017 – Community Open House #1 5:30- 7:30pm Museum of Ontario Archaeology June 1, 2017 - July 1, 2017  – Community Input Survey Open and LAC compiling comments  August 15, 2017* – Draft of Conservation Master Plan posted on City website and circulated to LAC, EEPAC & ACCAC for comments October 18, 2017*  – Community Open House #2 (Location TBD) November / December 2017*  – Planning and Environment Committee of Council, Public Participation Meeting *indicates timing subject to change
