Assumptions

n Enjoy what you do n You can innovate n You are a creative n Talent and ability is

diverse

n Thinking is not linear n Failure is expected n Embrace ambiguity

  • 1. Brainstorm ways of making

science visible in the community

n Be divergent. Be creative. Find inspiration.

n Don’t shoot down any ideas. Put all of them on the

table no matter how crazy they might seem. then

n Converge your thinking down to a single idea to

prototype.

  • 2. Create a prototype

n Take your idea and create a plan,

working model, proposal, mock-up, sketch, video trailer, concept. It does not have to be something you build and it is not a finished product.

n As your prototype develops test it and

refine it.

  • 3. Give an update to the community

n When: 1.35 – 2.55 today n Where: Your assigned room n What: Community members are available to guide you.

They will want to know

n Your idea? n How your thinking progressed throughout the day? n What evidence you have to support this progression in

thinking? Use their feedback to refine and clarify your prototype.

+ Reflection on learning video

n When: 1.35 – 2.55 n Where: Green screen room in the library. Be on time. Be

prepared.

n How: Sign up sheet in Ms. Goruk’s room n What: 3-minute video 1.

What was your idea?

2.

How did you develop your idea? Even “failures” are relevant to share.

3.

Where is your prototype is now?

4.

What next?

Prepare for your reflection

n Get to the point n Involve everyone n Plan what you are going to say n Speak with confidence. No notes

Know your prototype

n Show your prototype n How did you develop it? Even “failures” are relevant. n Where is your prototype is now? n What next?
