Student Meal Distribution

  • More than 350,000 student meals have been

distributed since schools closed on March 17, making PPS the state leader in making sure students are being fed.

  • Fresh produce has been added to the student

meals as of Monday, May 11.

  • All packets are available for download from the schools’

websites.

  • Hard copies are also available and will continue to be distributed

at the student meal sites. (Schools that get meals at the Full Service

Community Center get packets at the New Roberto Clemente School.)

  • ...by emailing them directly to teachers

You can also choose to turn all student packets in when schools reopen. The grade given will be an incomplete, and the grade will be revised when we return to school.

Information Call Center

The district launched an Information Call Center to receive questions from families and staff about matters related to the virus. The Information Call Center is able to receive questions in four languages on four separate phone lines, which are as follows: ∘ For English, call (973) 321-0609 ∘ For Arabic (ىبرع), call (973) 321-0610 ∘ For Spanish, call (973) 321-0611 ∘ For Bengali (বাাঃলা), call (973) 321-0612 Callers will receive a response from the district within 24 hours. District staff monitors messages daily Monday through Friday.

Dances, Proms and Trips

  • Districtwide, all dances, proms and trips have been canceled
  • You may be entitled to a refund of the money that you already paid to the

school for these events and activities. Please contact your school principal to find out if you are eligible for a refund. The money can be refunded the same manner as the deposit was made. For cash refunds, the following must occur:

  • The school must retain a receipt book and each parent/student must receive a

receipt.

  • The school must have a detailed record of the transaction and the refund

amount must agree with the transaction.

All Paterson Public School District employees will adhere to the establish COVID-19 protocols to ensure the health and safety of all Paterson Public School District stakeholders.

  • We established a reopening of schools task force to develop

comprehensive plans to allow stakeholders an opportunity to re enter

Phase I: Locker Clean Up High School Reentry

By June 24. 2020 (pending county approval) all student lockers will be cleaned and sanitized. Students who did not retrieve their belongs will be able to retrieve it from a central location. Custodian will complete a locker review to ensure all items are removed. If items are still present, they will be bag, labeled and stored in a designated area for June pick up. Principal will provide the student name assigned to locker.

Changes to the Registration Process for 2020-2021 School Year

  • Entrance to Registration will be located in the rear of the building

located in the parking lot of the Super Fresh Food Market.

  • Only one parent will be allowed in to register. If you need a

translator you may bring one additional person.

  • Children are not required to be present at the time of the
  • appointment. Please do not bring children to the appointment. If

you do not have a babysitter you may bring them, but they may not enter the building and you must bring someone to watch them

  • utside.
