BOUNDARY STUDY SURVEY
Purpose of Boundary Study:
❖ Address the growing transportation challenges resulting from increased traffic in the south metro area. ❖ Provide boundaries for the new elementary school to be built for the Ames neighborhood (opening Fall, 2021). ❖ Provide boundaries for the new elementary school to be built for the combined Highland and Franklin neighborhood (opening Fall, 2022). ❖ Better balance enrollment between Newton and Powell middle schools.
2018 Bond:
❖ Strategically replace aging facilities in a way that addresses transportation and school size challenges. ❖ Prolong the life of aging facilities and address accessibility issues until the district can replace them in decades to come. ❖ Create a new Career and Technical Education and Innovation Center. ❖ Replace old, outdated classroom furniture in every school with new furnishings that facilitate modern instruction while accommodating students with a variety of needs.
