PEARLAND ISD INSTRUCTION / SCHOOL SCHEDULE
THE DISTRICT IS REQUIRED TO PREPARE FOR THREE DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL MODELS, DEPENDING ON PANDEMIC DEVELOPMENTS, STATE/REGIONAL REQUIREMENTS, AND OTHER FACTORS. AT THIS TIME, WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD YOU PREFER, IF THE ENVIRONMENT ALLOWS A CHOICE AMONG THEM? Full-time on campus instruction 33% Full-time online remote learning 25% Hybrid Model 38% Other 4%
A few districts in Texas are considering an intersessional school calendar that begins in early August, ends in late June, and contains much longer holiday breaks (such as two weeks at Thanksgiving, four weeks at Christmas and two weeks for Spring Break), thereby reserving such days as instructional make-up days if the pandemic requires school closures. Essentially, such a plan provides a much shorter summer break and longer holiday breaks, with provisions that such breaks could be re-converted into days, if necessary. Are you in support of this calendar model for Pearland ISD?
