Why boundary line discussion? • 2 nd HS approval - April 2017 • Location of land within Lewis & Clark boundary lines • Goal to include 2 nd HS location within TJ boundary lines (1 of 5) • East, Thorpe Gordon, Moreau Heights boundary lines • Middle School boundary lines – 1993 3

  4. 3/6/18 Goals • Community input – splitting of EL students & families • Boundary line process goals 1. Include 2 nd HS location in 2 nd HS boundary line (TJ) 2. Similar enrollment numbers 3. Similar free & reduced percentages 4. Minimize elem & middle school students changing schools (current or future) 5. Eliminating elementary schools splitting Process • Keep the goals at the forefront of the process • Communication with BOE & stakeholders on the process - #StrongerTogether • Boundary line committee • Goal of the committee – vet the process from a neighborhood perspective and develop scenarios for consideration • Selection process • 12/14/17, 1/4/18 group 1, 1/8/18 group 2, 1/16/18 group 3, 1/18/18 group 2, 2/5/18, 3/20/18, others as needed • Community input • Civic organizations, local media, coffee with Larry, Brown bag lunch with Larry, etc • School parent meetings – Lawson (2/1), Cedar Hill (2/28), Thorpe (3/5), South (3/8) • Community town hall meetings – TJ & LC • BOE agenda – 1 st , 2 nd / final reading • Recommendation to the BOE • Finalized - August 2018 4
