  • principle. The Hague Ethical Guidelines has 9

principles and any can be chosen for the discussion but the 6 selected here will make for a livelier interaction.

Scenario

  • To start the process each group will familiarise

itself with the principle to which it is allocated. Please discuss this robustly to make yourselves knowledgeable about what the principle

  • represents. Each member of the group should be

able to discuss the principle with others. After you have done this you will be reallocated to another

  • group. In the new group each person will find

themselves with 5 others defending different

  • principles. In this new arrangement please

defend your own position and argue why your principle is more important than the others.

Workshop Plan

  • Participants form groups of 5 - 6 individuals
  • Groups should comprise individuals who do not

normally work together

  • Groups are assigned a principle
  • Groups discuss their position ( 15-20 min )
  • One member of each group to visit others to

exchange views ( 20-30 min )

  • Reconvene in original group. Have positions /

views changed ?( 10-15 min)

  • Group feedback to all participants
