The Ibero-American League of Civil Society Organizations “La Liga” is a private non profit institution, currently involving 26

from 18 Ibero-American countries, which are specialized in human, social and community development. The League was legally established in December 1999 in Santiago de Compostela (Spain), according to Spanish legislation.

Contribute, jointly with other actors of civil society, to the generation of proposals to fight poverty and social exclusion, for the development of societies that aim at human well-being, respect for human rights and the dignity of the individual.

• Generating knowledge, jointly with other actors of society, that

supports proposals which have an impact on public policies to address poverty, social exclusion and inequity, at national, regional and Ibero-American levels. Strategic Goal 2

• Making organized civil society visible as a partner and political

actor at regional and national levels, having an impact on public policy within the context of improved governance of the region’s countries. Strategic Goal 3

• Providing “La Liga” member organizations with the mechanisms

and devices that would strengthen their advocacy skills at national level and with the networks they are part of.
