The Biblical View

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath

Chassidic concept of human wholeness i.e. being complete

• Adam needed a helper – suggesting there was a

need and Eve had something to fulfil this need

• Something was taken away from Adam and it

became Eve

• Man shall leave father and mother and cleave to his

wife (leave and cleave)

• They will become one flesh – total unity between

them

• They were both naked and it was ok - intimacy
