Problem How to: Engage and inform a dispersed/commuter student population Facilitate access to student resources Create an inclusive central gathering space Build and foster a coherent identity around the major Leverage student talent/energy for individual and communal benefit and provide a valuable experience …and do it with little or no resources

Management Social Media Team is operated out of the Canvas shell for the one unit COMM 198 activity course (credit/no credit) Students self-select into teams/tasks; team leaders and CC Director appointed Larger teams have dedicated discussion boards for communication Students post weekly to a discussion board on their deliverables; graded via Speedgrader on a 10 point scale; feedback and directions via Comments Announcements used for dissemination of special or time sensitive information to "push" Most information pulled from Weekly Newsletter (COMM Events) Policy Handbook: scope of our mission; prohibited content; use of Canvas shell features Guides: mostly student generated; best practices; how to; technical Challenge: sta ff graduate (most stay at least 2 semesters)
