It is the expectation of all freshman students to successfully complete all eight courses for which they are enrolled therefore establishing their GPA. In addition, freshmen students are to successfully complete the STAAR End Of Course assessments for English 1, Biology and Algebra 1.

ECHS students are require to complete high school state elective courses College Career Readiness and AVID Elective to learn about skills to promote college success. Freshman college courses are Speech 1315: Public Speaking and Speech 1318: Interpersonal Communications. In addition, students complete a week long Summer Bridge Program co-presented by SHS and LiT.

Extra-Curricular Activities: 33 ECHS students participated in various activities including, but not limited to, sports, cheerleading, band, FCCLA, FFA and drama. Community Service: This area is in the process of being developed. College Culture: College visits to Lamar University, Lamar Institute to Technology, McNeese University

Silsbee’s ECHS program will be considered successful based upon the percentage of students who graduate high school and are core complete, have 60 credit hours or a bachelor’s degree.
