Our methodology

Our location
- The Incubator is located whithin
the University campus of Palermo
– 1.500 m2 of surface – 14 offices for our startups – public areas for meetings, events and training activities – prototyping laboratory – “open air” solar laboratory

- 300 mq devoted to new products development
– simulation workstation – 3D printing – graphics – mechanical construction – electronics card construction – materials and equipments test

- Realized thanks to a
mix of regional, national and European resources, it will represent an experimentation site at international level.

CRE_ZI, creative companies incubator
- Collaboration between ARCA and the
Cultural Department of the Municipality of Palermo.
- Catamiati group, that works to
promote and spread entrepreneurship in Palermo, is a partner of the project.
- Identification of a suitable area to
create an hub for creative startups (Cantieri Culturali old kitchens).
- “soft” thematic areas: design, music,
culture, entertainment, gastronomy, informatics, communication, services and social innovation…

Our networks
- From 2011 ARCA is a partner of EEN – Enterprise
Europe Network , which helps SME to enter new markets, to acquire new technologies and to access to the financial instruments of the Union.
- ARCA holds TLL Sicily, the regional ENoLL-European
Network of Living Labs node.
- ARCA has signed agreements with institutional
investors and cooperate with scouting initiatives (Seedlab, Marzotto prize, Talento delle idee/Unicredit, SUI/Banca Intesa).
- ARCA is the Service Center headquarter for the
manufacturing district of Meccatronica Sicilia and promotes the High Technology District for Advanced Manufacturing Systems.

Our route
- the Ministry of Economic Development has supported
ARCA from 2004 to 2010.
- laboratories have been created by the University of
Palermo with the resources of the EU Structural Funds.
- from 2011, the Consortium is self-financing. The main
resources are revenues from startups and SMEs services and the participation in European projects.
- we have defined the path to achieve the recognition as
a certified incubator by the end of 2014.
