Organisation Background • Founded in 2014, AAIN’s business is to advance agribusiness incubation in Africa by building capacity, sharing information, mobilising financing and improving market access for aspiring entrepreneurs. • AAIN serves any individual, organisation or firm that is interested in agribusiness incubation in Africa. • AAINS’s 4 strategic investment areas; – Agribusiness Education Promotion – Technology and innovations commercialisation – Youth Engagement in Agribusiness Incubation, trade and investment – African Agribusiness Incubation Fund-AAIF AAIN’s aim is to be the leading centre of excellence in agribusiness incubation in the continent incubating incubators for job and wealth creation

Your current work/research AAIN is currently involved in numerous projects across the continent key of them being; • ENABLE youth program in Ghana with IITA and AfDB as key partners. • Creating an African Agribusiness mentors platform. • Establishment of new agri-business incubators and capacity building on existing incubators. • Incubator managers trainings. • Organizing youth in agribusiness challenge in Rwanda, 2017. • Organizing AAIN African agribusiness conference in Dakar Senegal, 2017.

Why the workshop is of Interest to AAIN • As an institution one of the challenges we have is accessing credible data on African population and economic status of the continent in regards to agriculture development country by country. • The workshop is of interest to us as we keen on identifying ways we can use the free and open geospatial software, open data, open educational resources and open science in Africa using agriGIS to improve agribusiness incubation in Africa.
