Key Factors to Success Attendance Facts : • 90.1% - 95.9% =Average of 1 grade below target. • 80.1% - 90% = Average of 1.6 grades below target. • Below 80% = Average of 2 grades below target. • All students who achieved or exceeded their Minimum Target Pathway had an average of 96%+ plus attendance. • Equipment; perfect practice makes perfect, come equipped every day to learn, and learn with the tools you need in an exam. • Positive Attitude to Learning.

What Parents Can Do To Help… • A dedicated quiet space – with good light and with no distractions • Discuss your child’s revision timetable • Encourage working in short bursts, changing subject and revision techniques regularly to stay fresh • Ensure that your son or daughter takes regular breaks • Monitor Internet usage and restrict phone access • Know and discuss the date, time and location for each exam and incorporate this into the revision plan and preparation • Inform us about medical conditions • Inform us about other circumstances

  24. How we set targets End of year expected grade 8 7 SAT Scores in Year 6 We use a national data base comparing how students with 6 similar SATs achieve at GCSE 5 4 3 2 Achieving a GCSE grade 9 will depend on 1 how students perform nationally in that subject.

Is a target fixed? • Student targets will be constantly reviewed, compared to how similar students achieve nationally. • The EXPECTED grade is a minimum expectation. • Students can be projected by their subject teacher to achieve higher than their EXPECTED grade (or lower). • Students are challenged to achieve beyond their EXPECTED grade.

  27. GO 4 Schools Our new method or reporting and assessing GO 4 Schools. This is changing the way we share data, reports and homework. Using GO 4 Schools will enable you to view your child’s progress online and access the following information at any time: • Homework – Homework tasks due in the next 7 days. • Detailed Progress – Providing a summary of a range of assessments throughout the year. • Attendance – Shown from the start of the academic year. • Timetable – Your child’s daily and weekly timetable. • Progress Reports – Which are published each year and termly Grade Updates. • Behaviour Record – Which shows both positive and negative behaviours over time. Your child’s page is automatically updated, providing you with the latest information. When a new grade or report is available, we will contact you to let you know.

Accessing Go 4 Schools • To access the site, please go to www.go4schools.com and click on the Parents icon at the top of the main page to arrive at the log-in screen. • Or click on the parents tab from the GO 4 Schools link on our website. • Students must do the same, but click on the students icon.

  29. What to look for Enter your email address here. • If you cannot access GO 4 Schools for any reason, please email: simon.killen@lordgrey.org.uk • Students are also expected to log in. • A student must log in via the student tab and repeat the steps using their P-number.

  30. • The email address you use to enter the site must be the one we have registered in our database for you. At the moment, we currently have the two priority access email addresses with linked parental responsibility. • If you do not have an email address we can send the reports out on paper via individual requests. • To request a password for GO 4 Schools , please enter your email address into the First- time User field and click ‘Please send me a password’. A randomised password will then be generated and sent to your email address. You will then be able to log into the site and view your child’s page . • Example of a strong password: @S1mon123
