Requires Improvement Issues raised were already identified by the Senior Leadership Team and Governors RI grading was not a surprise due to 2014/15 outcomes (Year 6 SATs results below National averages) Raising attainment action plan was already in place from September 2015

What do we need to do to improve?
Improve outcomes for all groups of pupils. Address inconsistencies in teaching Increase the level of challenge for more able pupils Extend writing skills within other subjects such as Science Close performance gaps in other year groups for our disadvantaged pupils.
What had we already done prior to the inspection?
- Raising attainment plan in place since September 2015
- Improving picture of outcomes for all year groups
- Tackled underperformance
- Improved writing progress in 2014/15 – increase in progress measure of 34% (from 62% to
96%)
- Improved % of more able writers reaching level 5 at the end of Key stage 2 (29% in 2014/15)
- Assessment – new assessment approach and bespoke assessment information for Y5/Y6
- Intervention strategy – to close the gaps
- Introduced new approaches for English and Maths – Talk 4 writing and Singapore Maths
- Extensive CPD for senior leaders, teaching staff and teaching assistants
- Revised roles and responsibilities of all staff
- Established strong partnerships with other schools
- Programme of parental engagement
- Before/After school/ Saturday boosters Y6
- Monitoring programme in place – carried out by SLT
