BACKGROUND

  • Ofsted framework changed, raising the bar for all

schools

  • Our previous inspection, two years ago, was

Requires Improvement for all areas

  • During that time expansion continued, Preschool,

ASC, increase in numbers, growth of year 6

  • Two day inspection in March
  • Three inspectors including one HMI
  • Rigorous inspection framework that is a constant

test for 48 hours

academy

Strengths

  • Leaders have driven improvements in quality of education for pupils
  • Leaders have improved the evaluation for Pupil Premium spending
  • Leaders have strong subject knowledge & all subjects are embedded

  • PE is effective & there is an enhanced focus on healthy living
  • Pupils develop their spiritual, moral, social & cultural understanding well
  • Leadership for Special Educational Needs is effective and these pupils,

including the pupils in ASC, make good progress

  • SCR meets requirements and is regularly checked
  • Pupils told inspectors they felt safe and protected by the staff

  • At key stage 1, pupils develop effective skills through well planned

lessons & as a result pupils achieve well
