NEW JERSEY’S STATEWIDE ASSESSMENT PROGRAM ฀ In the spring of 2019, students in grades 3-8 were administered the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for English Language Arts and Mathematics. Grade 8 students were administered either the grade 8 mathematics or Algebra I NJSLA based on their course enrollment. These assessments had been referred to as the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). ฀ In the spring of 2019, students in grades 5 and 8 were also administered the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for Science. This assessment replaced the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK). To date, student scores for this assessment have not been provided by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE). 5
