The 2019 NJSLA- ELA was administered to all students grades 3-10 and the NJSLA- M Math was administered to students in grades 3-8, as well as those enrolled in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in grades 9 & 10. Students in grades 5, 8 and 11 participated administration of the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment - Science (NJSLA-S). Special Education Students with significant challenges participated in alternate assessments for English Language Arts, Math, and Science (DLM). ELLs participated in the ACCESS for ELLs test to monitor students’ progress toward English Language Proficiency.
The purpose of this analysis is to answer these questions:
How well did this particular group of students do in comparison to peers across the state? How have we improved at each grade level from one year to the next, keeping in mind the tested population is different? How did the same group of students grow and change from
Where are our strengths and what skills are in the greatest need of improvement?
