Request for Qualifications • Request for qualifications sent to approximately thirty (30) qualified Architectural firms throughout the state. • Each firm was provided with written list of criteria for consideration of qualifications. • Submittals for consideration for interviews received from fifteen (15) firms. • An interview committee was selected consisting of Grissom High School faculty, student representatives, and members of the Grissom community • The submittals were reviewed and rated by TCU and the Huntsville City Schools Operations division to develop a short list of firms for interviews.

  6. Schedule • Programming / Educations Specifications October / December 2012 • Interviews for Architect Selection November 2012 • Design: January 2013 through February 2014 • Bids for Construction: March / April 2014 • Construction: May 2014 through May 2016 • Occupancy / First Classes: August 2016

  7. Interviews / Selection Process • Presentations to the selection committee occurred on November 14, 2012. • Each firm was provided with written list of criteria for consideration • Submittals for consideration for interviews received from fifteen (15) firms • The submittals were reviewed and rated by TCU and the Huntsville City Schools Operations division to develop a short list of the most qualified firms for interviews. • An interview committee was selected consisting of Grissom High School faculty, student representatives, and members of the Grissom community.

  8. Interview Evaluation & Scoring • The Selection Committee ranked each presenting firm and ranked the importance factor of each critical question. The results are shown in the summary below.

  9. Recommendation for Selection • Based on the scored results of the interviews / presentations of the five firms there was a unanimous selection recommended by the selection committee. • Chapman Sisson Architects is the firm recommended for the design of the New Grissom High School project. • Additional due diligence was performed by TCU Consulting Services, LLC and Huntsville City Schools to confirm the capacity and qualifications of the recommended firm to perform this work. We concur with the recommendations of the selection committee.
