Bridging across Languages

What I want to learn in Filipino

  • r English

What I know in my home language

Bridging is a specific, structured instructional moment when learners transfer knowledge from one language to another. It is using everything you know about one language to learn another language.

Sustainability: Supporting MTB-MLE and Literacy

✓ Basa Pilipinas has provided its partner schools with at least 1.4 million units of mother tongue leveled readers, read-aloud books, and Kindergarten Big Books. ✓ DepEd will print and distribute the Ilokano and Sinugbuanong Binisaya Kindergarten Learner’s Material to all schools using these languages in SY2018-19. ✓ Basa’s leveled readers have been adopted as

  • fficial materials for all DepEd multigrade

classes, and uploaded to the DepEd’s Learning Resource Portal to be accessed and used by teachers nationwide.
