What is a UCI MTB Team?:

Mountain Bike Racing: UCI MTB Team:

Mountain bike racing (MTB) is the competitive cycle sport discipline of mountain biking held on off-road

  • terrain. The sport is administered by

the International Cycling Union (UCI). Our team concentrates on the Cross- Country (XC) or Endurance disciplines

  • f MTB racing. The Cross-Country

Olympic (XCO) format is held over undulating circuits of approximately 5km, with technical descents, forest roads, rocky paths and obstacles. In 2014, our team registered as Africa’s first UCI MTB Team. This international “PRO” status gives us access to the world’s biggest races and inclusion in the world team

  • rankings. In 2017, we reached our

highest ranking of 26th ranked team in the world. As of 2017, we remain Africa’s only UCI MTB Team and continue to be the most consistent and visible team in the African UCI MTB race circuit. Attaining UCI MTB Team status is an achievement we are very proud of and we will continually strive to maintain our status. Photo: Hoshi Yoshida

ABOUT US: GREAT BRAND AMBASSADORS: HISTORY OF SUCCESS:

The African Dream Team is a UCI MTB Team with a difference. The purpose of the team is to identify cycling talent from the developing nations of Africa, particularly Lesotho, and give those riders an

  • pportunity to cycle on the world’s biggest

MTB stages. We have a proven record of seeing young riders aspiring to big dreams, developing self-confidence and rising above the poverty and hopelessness that they were born into. More than half of our team members have lost either one or both parents, which is not uncommon in a region with such a high HIV/AIDS rate. OUR TEAM IS DIFFERENT! We stand out from the rest of the crowd and provide your brand with great ambassadors. The polite and courteous upbringing of our riders leads them to be natural appreciative and loyal

  • ambassadors. The stunning scenery of

Lesotho, which is renowned for its harsh nature, also provides a great backdrop for you to highlight your brand. Since the team was formed in 2014, we have remained as the first and only African team to be licensed as an International Cycling Union Mountain Bike Team and to compete in World Cup/ World Championship level

  • competition. Despite our lowly beginnings,

we currently rank inside the top 30 teams in the world. Fresh from competition at Cairns World Championships and with RIO 2016 Olympic Games experience under our belts, we now set our sights towards Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. We pride ourselves at being the most consistent and visible team on the African & South African MTB circuit.
