Year 2 Home Reading Programme

  • Growing readers by building confidence and providing
  • pportunities to practice
  • Fluency books to read independently, to reread and to share

reading success Year 2 Fluency Book days are Monday and Thursday. (3 Fluency Books on each day)

  • Books are returned to boxes as part of morning routines
  • Communication through the reading log in the diary
  • Year 2 students can also take out up to FOUR library books.

Morning Drop Offs

  • Promote further independence and

responsibility skills - have your child do all their morning chores themselves

  • Encourage children to move immediately into

social interactions - fostering building relationships

  • Allowing teachers to develop the Shared Area

as a learning space from the beginning of the day.

  • email. Bus students - both teacher & Bus Mum to be

informed.

  • CCAs - after school. Children need to be collected from

school and accompanied by an adult.

  • After school - students should only be on school grounds if

they are waiting to attend a class & should be accompanied by an adult.
