A tightly framed floor set above ground on

solid foundations.

Build to be rodent proof.
Should be Insulated (recommended by MoF).
Roof able to bear or shed heavy snow loads.
A safe and sound wood stove.
Must include a separate outhouse.
Have an attractive exterior finish.
Consider a fire extinguisher and 1st aid kit.

Insulation to be closed cell board. (rodent proof)
Use snow load design figures as per RDKB.
Metal roofing is best for fire and rodent proofing.
Use lumber, timber or log framing. (no shacks)
Approved woodstove, chimney through the roof.
Separate woodshed keeps rats away from cabin.
Solid, unlocked door and several windows.
Plan for cabin ventilation.
