Project Description

§ Existing lines are 2” galvanized, 6” and 8” cast

iron

§ Installed from 1933- 1964 § Project cost: $1,299,315.00 § Saluda Construction was awarded the contract. § Bill Williams, Owner § Greenville Water will oversee the project. § Scott Tackett, Designer/Inspector Supervisor § Paul Hendsbee, Designer/Inspector

7,615 linear feet of new 6, 8, 12-inch ductile iron water mains will be installed along Hawthorne Lane and Mills Avenue from Augusta Street to Henrydale Avenue between April 10 and December 30.

Construction Schedule

Hawthorne Lane April 10- June 30 Augusta Street- Mission Street May 1- June 9 Mission Street- Guess Street June 12- July 14 Lynn/ Guess Street- Reeves Street July 17- September 29 Reeves Street- Henrydale Avenue, portion of Marue Drive October 2- December 30 *subject to change due to weather or unknown underground conditions

Work will generally occur between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. However, weekend or night work MAY be necessary.

Temporary Inconveniences

§ Access to all properties will be maintained but may be

difficult at times.

§ SCDOT is working with us to reduce inconveniences. § Noise, dirt and vibrations are normal.

Greenville Water has worked with the contractor to maximize our efficiency and limit inconveniences.

Restoration

§ Restoration of street surfaces, landscaping

and grassed areas disturbed during construction will begin after installation of the pipe is complete.

§ The City of Greenville will begin a

beautification project in the Fall of 2018. Greenville Water will do our best to leave your neighborhood as we found it.
