  1. Main Entrance Entry and Exit Procedures and Rules General  Face Coverings must be worn at all times if you are 11 or older when moving through the Spectrum to (unless exempted from having to do so in accordance with government guidelines in place at the time) – face coverings must be worn properly, i.e. mouths and noses must be covered with a well-fitting face covering  Divers should remove masks when in position on poolside.  Parents watching from designated viewing areas (see below) should follow Spectrum requirements regarding the wearing of face coverings in these areas. However, Star Diving Club strongly recommend that face coverings are worn at all times when inside the Spectrum, except by divers on poolside.  Parents are not allowed poolside. Access Procedures Please refer to the schematic plans appended to this procedure for a pictorial supplementary representation of the routes described. General Access  Access will be via the Spectrum main entrance.  The pool level is accessed by descending via the bowling arena stairs (to the right of the main entrance).  Divers will then proceed through the pool level restaurant to the changing room lobby by the pool.  Divers then have a choice whether to: o proceed straight to the pool via the swim school drop off lane (left hand lane) – see below for more detail; or o enter the changing room area if not pool ready – follow one-way system around the changing room area exiting back out in the pool lobby area to join the queue lane referred to above. If changing in the changing rooms, divers and their parents should be aware that divers will need to transit through a queue/lane system where other children and adults are likely to be present. We suggest wearing easily removable clothes/coverings (such as tracksuit, robe, towel etc.) over their swimsuits in this transit area – these can be removed and stored at poolside and re-worn in transit back to the changing rooms at the end of the diving session.  Parents/Guardians of Primary school age children are welcome to accompany their children to and from poolside in accordance with these procedures.  We encourage secondary school age children to proceed unaccompanied and on leaving the pool make their own way to a meeting point on the entrance level that has been pre-agreed with their parent/guardian. This will help us minimise the number of people in higher traffic areas. We do however appreciate that some secondary school age children/parents/guardians, particularly those on taster sessions and/or new members that are not familiar with the Spectrum layout may prefer for the diver to be accompanied until they become more familiar with access/exit routes and viable meeting points – please let us know if this is the case.

  2. Access Procedure before 18.30 and Sunday morning sessions; when competition pool is being used for swim lessons Entry  Divers and, where applicable (see above) parents/guardians, should use the poolside (drop-off) lane. If the corridor is clear, divers will proceed down the left-hand lane and will access the poolside, moving towards the dive pit.  As stated above parents/guardians that accompany divers and divers of secondary school age should wear a face covering.  When entering the dive pool via the double doors (by the first aid room), divers/parents/guardians should report that they are for diving rather than swim school - they will then proceed directly to poolside. Depending on diver numbers already at pool side – as determined by Star coaching staff – entering divers will either be: o called to poolside of the dive pool; or o directed to a queuing area beyond the dive pool to the rear of the competition pool to await an invite to move to poolside.  Once divers have proceeded to the dive pool poolside, or to the holding queue area described above, any parents/guardians that accompanied divers should exit the pool side area via the same route utilised by swim school parents i.e. along the left hand side of the competition pool (by the stadium seating) to exit the pool area via the changing rooms – depending on lesson timing this poolside area may be busy ; parents guardians must ensure that face coverings are properly worn and so far as is practicable, other parents should be given as wide a berth as possible (ideally 2,m, but if not possible 1m plus)  On exit from the pool side area parents/guardians should proceed up one level via main stairs by the changing room (or if too congested via the bowling/main entrance stair) to either the exit or to the café or upper poolside (blue seating) viewing areas. Exit  Divers at the end of their session that finishes at or before 18.30 (whilst swim school is in progress) should exit along the left-hand side of the competition pool (by the stadium seating) to exit the pool area via the changing rooms unless directed otherwise by Star coaching staff. Divers then proceed upstairs or enter the changing rooms if required.  If parents are to collect from poolside (see comments above regarding when this is likely to be the case) then o the parents/guardians will join the right-hand lane queue to the pool (the collection queue) along with swim school pickup parents and wait to be admitted to poolside by Spectrum staff or called in by Star coaches when divers are ready) o If, parents/guardians arrive at a time between 18.00 – 18.30 when Guildford City Swim Club ( GCSC ) are already queuing in the right hand lane, parents/guardians should use the left hand queue and enter the poolside area as soon as possible (rather than holding in the corridor in proximity to the GCSC swimmers) – once on poolside, parents should wait in the poolside queue holding area beyond the dive pool to the rear of the competition pool; social distancing from other queuing parents (if any) should be observed by adhering to the spacing shown by cones set out here.

  3. Procedure after 18.30 and Sunday afternoon sessions; when competition pool is being used by Guildford City Swim Club Regardless of time – if GCSC are queuing in the poolside corridor, divers/parents/guardians should follow this procedure Entry  If the corridor is clear of GCSC swimmers, or if GCSC swimmers are holding in the corridor (this is likely to occur between around 18.15 – 18.30 and 19.15 – 19.30) divers and, if accompanied, their parent/guardian, will proceed down the left-hand lane and will access the poolside, moving towards the dive pit – face coverings must be properly worn and diving corridor users should pass queuing GCSC swimmers quickly i.e. at a fast walking pace.  If GCSC swimmers are moving to the entrance by the first aid room (typically at around 18.30 and 19.30), the divers and if accompanied, their parent/guardian, will wait until the corridor clears and will then proceed into the poolside area.  If parents/guardians of GCSC are exiting the poolside area by the left-hand lane that we use – please wait the few seconds it will take them to walk along this lane and exit before entering the lane. Exit – including by Parents following accompanied drop off  The exit from the poolside area will be down the same lane as entry (the lane nearest the pool being the right-hand lane observed from the exit point).  Star diving coaches may hold divers back for a few minutes if the corridor is or is likely to be busy with GCSC swimmers.  On exit from the corridor, divers and where applicable parents/guardians should proceed up one level via main stairs by the changing room (or if too congested via the bowling/main entrance stair) to the exit or their pre-arranged meeting point to meet with their parent/guardian. Viewing Areas Viewing from the upper pool deck is currently not viable as this is our main entrance and exit route for divers. There are two areas for parents to use:  The upper poolside blue stadium seating area is closest to the dive pool but does not offer an easy view of the boards.  The external viewing area adjacent to the café offers a better view but is much further from the boards. Parents/guardians using either area and out (or to viewing area).  If you use either of these areas, please be mindful of other users of the viewing areas and maintain social distance from other users and please ensure that face coverings are properly worn.
