When reporting to work, visiting a school site, or visiting the district office:
- Employees are required to use the hand sanitizer
station upon entering the premise (or before entering the vehicle if using a district vehicle)
- Employees are required to wear a face covering at all
times when interacting with others, when away from their desk and/or when social distancing is not feasible
- Employees are required to practice social distancing,
maintaining a six (6) feet distance from other individuals, at all times
Employees should also:
- Stay home if experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms
- Practice good hygiene by coughing or sneezing into their elbow or into a tissue
- Wash their hands often throughout the day with soap and warm water for at least
twenty (20) seconds
- Sanitize work spaces and commonly touched surfaces (copy machines, phones)
- Avoid touching their face with bare hands (namely mouth, nose, and eyes)
- Minimize using other colleague’s equipment (phone, pens, tools)
- Avoid physical contact with others (hugs and handshakes)
For departments and school sites interacting with the public:
- Signs should be posted at
entrances or high traffic areas reminding individuals of:
- Face covering requirements
- Social distancing guidelines
- Handwashing and hygiene

Employees may also consider:
- Using gloves or a tissue when touching high contact areas
(please dispose of gloves and tissues properly)
- Placing tables or barriers in front of counters to create a
greater distance between employees and the public
- Set up a drop point when collecting paperwork or articles
from the public. The drop point minimizes contact between staff and the public
- Designate one-way aisles or walk ways
- Open doors or windows to increase ventilation in confined
areas/rooms
- Work in a secluded area if possible or work with
supervisors/school site administrators to design a staggered staff schedule

Face coverings & PPE
In accordance with the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) Guidance for Face Coverings: Ocean View School District 2020-21 page 3 states; Please read our 2020-21 School Reopening & Protection Plan.
- Teach and reinforce use of face
coverings, or in limited instances, face shields as an added protection.
- All staff are required to wear face
coverings.
- All students 2 years old to 8th
grade are required to wear face coverings while at school, except individuals who are exempt.
- While in the classroom or in organized
activity outside, under the supervision
- f a teacher, and when social distancing
can be achieved through other means, the teacher may direct students to remove their face coverings as necessary for the student’s well-being and health.
- A face shield is an acceptable
alternative for children ages 2 to 2nd grade who cannot properly wear a face covering.
- Students who inadvertently fail to
bring a face covering to school will be provided a face covering.
First day procedures

Check-in/check-out procedures
Entrance point: Line up along the wall (6 ft apart) for temp check and daily health survey. Check out: No temp check
Sign in table with emergency card check…parents will sign in and walk students to class (drop off only) Check out: Parent will sign out and go to class to pick up child Parents will exit after walking students to their classes through this exit

- Staff will serve breakfast/lunch
for students (no family style)

have “dirty/used” bin for toys to be disinfected at a later time
