  5. Gun Crime Workshop 8 th / 9 th September 2005 – Partners met to tackle gun crime intervention activities on the Borough. Initial focus on; • Prevention • Enforcement • Rehabilitation

  7. Safer Neighbourhoods 8 Safer Neighbourhood teams at present (Bishops, Clapham Town, Oval, Vassell, Coldharbour, Ferndale, Herne Hill, Streatham Wells ) Roll out has been brought forward 1 year (now from April 2006 to April 2007) for remaining 13 wards.

  8. ASB Co-ordinator New Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator – ‘Matt Shalders’ now in post (8 th August). Co-ordinates all Lambeth partnership activity.

  9. Latin-American Forum (28/09) Consulates and Diplomats from Latin-American Countries meet Lambeth Police, IPCC and community representatives to build stronger relationships within the Latin-American community.

Murders 2004 Date Victim Status 16 th January Orville Donovan GORDON Enquiries ongoing 20 th January Defendant found guilty and sentenced 15 th April to 13 Barrington EASY years imprisonment. 26 th January Kevin FORSYTHE Defendant acquitted. Further charged with Firearms offences 14 th April Adrian HENRY Defendant sentenced to life imprisonment 31 st May Trial started 12 th January 2005, defendant acquitted Darren CLARKE and deported to Jamaica. 9 th June Adrian MARRIOTT CPS withdrew case. One defendant convicted firearms offences and sentenced 8 yrs imprisonment. Separate trial, date to be fixed, for other defendant re firearms offences. 3 rd defendant released. 12 th June Trial fixed 7 th February. ‘Hung’ jury, re-trial date to be Nicholas DAVIS set. 30 th October Six charged, Trial date fixed for 3 rd October. David MORLEY 8 th Nov Two defendants found guilty of murder.Sentencing 7 th Horace BARNETT October 31 st Dec Solomon MARTIN Enquiries ongoing

  12. Murders 2005 Date Victim Status 30 th January Joan TYRELL Husband convicted manslaughter, sentenced to hospital order. 21 st February Justin BERNIER Arrests made. Enquiries continue. 25 th February Raquel ALVES One person charged remanded in custody. Trial set October 2005. 7 th July Julian Degraft- Two persons charged with murder. Hayford 1 st August Charles Owusu One male charged with murder. Trial ANOKY pending.
