What is SEL?
Social and Emotional Learning
according to Maurice Elias of Rutgers University Key Components:
- ! Dynamic process that occurs within the self and between others.
- ! All learning is cognitive and social and emotional.
Definition:
The process through which people learn to recognize and manage emotions, care about others, make good decisions, behave ethically and responsibly, develop positive relationships and avoid negative behaviors.
