  22. Branch and SIG highlights Cheshire Branch has provided a varied and well attended programme of events for our members with continued growth of a diverse committee. We are continuing to explore new venues to ensure we cover all of Cheshire eg UTC Warrington and venues in Macclesfield were new this year. JON HUGHES Incoming ICE North West Cheshire Branch Chair

  24. Branch and SIG highlights ICE Lancashire Branch In addition to running a range of member events, in 2018/19 we have been “Challenging the Norm” and promoting #Diversity. ICE Lancashire branch’s Committee saw a rise in female committee members during 2019 to the point that we are now almost a 50-50 gender split. We hosted a varied events programme in conjunction with a range of partners: IStructE, award winning architects, Manchester’s Science & Industry Museum, British Geotechnical Society, new contractors and - a range of local schools and universities .   26. Branch and SIG highlights Merseyside Branch Over the year we have maintained a series of high quality and well attended lectures and tours for our members.   28. Branch and SIG highlights Historical Engineering Group The public has a clear interest in civil engineering heritage, demonstrated by interest in our ICE 200 activities. Our talks are generally well attended and seeing figures of between 80-100 people at many talks is pleasing. Chair for 2019/20: JIM PARRY

Branch and SIG highlights Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Group Realising that we’d done more than we’d we set out to do including Empowering Women event, EID representatives on all branches, INWED event and closer links with Building Equality to support Pride, Sparkle and poster campaign. Branch and SIG highlights North West Geotechnical Group This year, besides the already well organised events with other branches, we were able to improve our connections through joint events with the North West Geological Society and the International Geosythentics Society. There is already a joint event planned with the Geological Society and there are on going discussions for another one with the IGS Chair for 2019/20: EDOUARDOS KARAVAKIS
