Graduation Requirements  A student must successfully complete…  25 credits, which include:  4 years of English  4 years of Math  3 years of Science  3 years of Social Studies  2 years of World Language  ½ credit of Health  ½ credit of Physical Education  1 credit of Visual, Performing and Applied Arts  An Online Learning Experience

  8. Where does your student stand?  Minimum 18 credits earned by beginning of 12 th grade to be on track to graduate  18 + 7 = 25 (3.5 credits 1 st sem & 3.5 credits 2 nd sem)  Credit status letters will be mailed home by late September  Students must have successfully completed 25 credits – including all required classes – in order to participate in the graduation ceremony

  9. Michigan Merit Exam  A student must take the entire MME in order to graduate  MME retakes  April 2020 * (only for students absent during 2019 test dates)

  13. Trade & Technical Schools  On-campus tours  With technical programs the facilities are very important – go visit!  Different programs lead to different certifications, research is key  Many do offer financial aid opportunities  Visits are an excused absence

Playing College Sports ~ NCAA & NAIA  Students who plan to play sports in college must register with the NCAA and/or NAIA Eligibility Center  www.eligibilitycenter.org (Division I & II)  www.playnaia.org (Division III)  Students should see their counselor to make sure they meet the NCAA or NAIA eligibility requirements  GPA & ACT/SAT requirements (NCAA & NAIA)  Core Course requirements (NCAA)

College Applications & Transcripts  Apply online by going directly to the college/university website  Request transcripts through www.parchment.com  Common Application  700+ Colleges  Coalition Application  Use the school’s application or the Common Application  College Application Week/Month: October 14-17th

  18. Letters of Recommendation  Some colleges & scholarships will require a letter of recommendation  Submit requests to teachers no later than:  October 17 th for November 1 st application deadlines  December 5 th for January 1 st application deadlines  At least two weeks notice for other deadlines  Students should ask someone that knows them well  They should also have a letter of recommendation from a teacher in the subject they plan to study  Counselors need a resume/activity sheet in order to be able to complete your student’s Common Application
