Changes to Court Assignments Tourney Play (Bob Richman) 12 — Men & Women tourney play will be supported on SCG courts — Court times will be scheduled at 11:00 for Women and 1:00 pm for Men — No practice court time will be reserved by the tennis club — Tourney play is limited to 1 or 2 teams per day — Effective immediately except for the already scheduled women’s teams

Shine-In-The-Sun Tennis Tournament (Ray Yost) 20 — Number of players signed up, 120, number of entries, 150 — 42 % from SCG — Revenue $3,980 Expenses $4,218 — Donation to Eve’s Place $2,000 — Ray will not be tournament director next year — Board recommending holding a club championship in November 2018 in place of Shine in the Sun. — Volunteer director is required

Tennis Instruction at Sun City Grand (Skip Pavitt) 21 — To-date in 2017, we have completed the following tennis instruction statics: ¡ 86 Clinics ¡ Each clinic is for one hour ¡ 68 participants ¡ Every 2 months Ray will update his clinic website page with times and dates for all upcoming clinics

Clinic Drills (Ray Yost) 23 — For those interested in working on their strokes: ¡ Classes by ability levels ¡ Ball machine and live ball drills and instruction ¡ Perfect 4 basic fundamentals: ÷ Forehand ÷ Backhand ÷ Serve ÷ Net game ¡ And work on doubles skills ¡ Cost per class: 1 = $15, 2= $25, 3= $35, 4= $46, 5= $55, 6= $65, 7= $75, 8 $85 ¡ No more than 4 students per class

Communication Committee (Jerry Leonard) 26 — We are working on revamping the bulletin boards, and we need your help We want to show everyone what a Grand Tennis Club we have — If you have fun pictures that you think would be good to show off our club please post them on the bulletin board by the Stadium court (both sides) — Or place them in an envelope and put them in the drop-box in the Sports Building — Board content is an ongoing activity. Please feel free to read new material and make suggestions on how we can improve

Recycling and Trash Collection (Dave) 27 — A combination of 13 and 30 gallon trash bags have been placed in the bins containing the blowers on courts 1 through 10 to facilitate the removal of recyclables, trash and tennis balls. — Large collection containers are located at the Sports building (2 recycle, several trash and 1 ball bin) — Recycle also available next to the Parks and Sons trash dumpster in the parking lot. — When playing with your groups please inform the uninformed of the above and encourage them to participate whenever they see an overflow.

  28. Ball Machine(s) Access 28 — How many are using machine on Court #5? — Any problems with accessing and operating? — Suggestions — New 75 foot extension cord is looped on handle.

  29. Goals & Objectives for 2018 (2018 Board) 29 — Create more play opportunities for all members — Resolve any remaining issues concerning West Valley play schedule — Recruit more volunteers — Promote harmony within the club
