Comparison of Google Slides, Powerpoint and Prezi

Google Slides

Benefits:

• Google slides is built for collaboration, a person can share a document to another and they can

simultaneously work on the project together.

• You can access a slides project from any device.
• Slides makes it very easy to share a presentation on the web.

Drawbacks:

• Need an internet connection for slides to function properly.
• Need a google account to access google slides.
• Far less customization abilities compared to Prezi and Powerpoint.

Google Slides

Powerpoint

Benefits:

• More abilities to customize than Google slides.
• Layout of Powerpoint is easier to navigate.

Drawbacks:

• Does not auto-save to Google drive, saves to the user.
• Can not access the presentation from anywhere must be logged on as the user.
• Can not collaborate and work on the presentation the same time as another person.

PowerPoint

Prezi

Benefits:

• Breaks the mold of the typical slide based presentation.
• Free and completely web-based.
• Appropriate for all ages, has simple design tools that ensures any aged kid will be successful in

creating a presentation on Prezi.

Drawbacks:

• Web-based, this could also be a drawback if one has limited internet access or if the internet access

is unreliable.

• There is a learning curve because most teachers/students use Google Slides or Powerpoint.
